This week, we saw the return of Busy Phillips' obnoxiously amusing Karen. She's that friend that every woman over the age of 26 has - the one so obsessed with marriage and babies that you wonder when her self-identity stopped being about herself and started revolving around husbands and fetuses that don't yet exist. Thankfully, Riki and Kate call her out on throwing a "Baby Sprinkle," aka a party to celebrate the fact that she's officially trying to get pregnant. I just hope no one gets ideas from this episode; pregnant women have more than enough opportunities for gifts if you ask me. And if you ask Kate and Riki, they're smug

For some reason, Riki gets baby fever after attending the Sprinkle and decides to start shooting up hormones which make her certifiably insane. Watching her make out with a high school kid? Weird. Watching her tell the high school audience to drop out of school and get pregnant? Funny. Watching Kate give her a hormone injection? Priceless.

Riki B+

"I'm sorry. Was that not the right size for your imaginary non-baby?"

Riki's hormones made her crazy, and it would be totally unfair to judge her for the crying fits or the teenage lusting or the high school lecture about having babies. I will, however, judge her for the fact that she went on a crazy cocktail of hormones to help herself get pregnant. Was Kate going to knock her up? I fail to see the logic of her plan, and while she can't be held responsible for the side effects, she can be judged for letting Kate jam a needle in her thigh. So, Riki loses a couple cool points this week for, you know, losing her cool.

Kate A

Kate faced her biggest fear: growing up. For that, she deserves a ton of credit! I mean, she's right. Being a grown-up is hard, and I, too, regularly worry that the increasingly complicated passwords I'm forced to remember will one day cause my brain to implode. So,I get it. Adult life is hard. But, as a grown-up with animal crackers in my pantry, I can certifiably say that you don't have to eat quiche if you don't want to. I fully support Kate's refusal to overcome her Peter Pan syndrome, and I hope she spends the next 14 years remaking all the puppets that Make-A-Wish kid sold on her. Because let's be real...you can never outgrow puppets.

Karen B

Karen is the WORST. She's obnoxious. She's self-absorbed. She's annoying. And she's GREAT at all of it. She's the kind of character who's actually good at being one of the worst kinds of human beings. So, props to Busy Phillips for making a totally unlikable character a little bit charming. Nonetheless, Karen always seems to make our girls feel awful about themselves and that's not cool. Someday she'll be thanking Riki for thinking ahead with that 2-year-old dress!

Artemis A

"Oh thank god, I almost tinkled my pajama jeans."

I'm not sure what her character's name is, but as far as I'm concerned, she always plays Artemis, a hilarious, crude, and honest woman who's just a little bit off her rocker. And on G&O, she didn't disappoint. She smushed Kate's face while diagnosing her with Peter Pan Syndrome, and forced the show's most adorable character to face her fear of growing up. That's a big step for our girl and for that, we can thank Artemis. Also, she wears pajama jeans, so she obviously gets an A for Amazing Fashion.

"Eggs" B+

Eggs was definitely one of the funnier episodes lately. It was refreshing to see Kate dig deep and it was nice to see guest stars actually live up to their potential. I do, however, wish we saw more of them. I also wish that the episodes would come full circle. It would have been nice to see our girls tell off Karen at the end or to see a follow-up session with Kate and Artemis. If there's anything G&O is guilty of, it's using guest stars to introduce plot lines that springboard Kate-and-Riki-centered story lines which never turn back to resolve the guest star's story. A little bit of resolution goes a long way. And a little bit more Artemis would've tied a funny little bow on this episode.
